Colquitt County Criminal Docket Searches
PeachCourt is where Colquitt State and Superior Court records land. Reach it through the Georgia Courts E-Access directory. You need an account before the authenticated search opens. Keep one thing in mind, though. That route is not a statewide criminal database. A Moultrie citation may stay in municipal court. A warrant may start in Magistrate Court. Juvenile matters stay out of public name searches. Match the court and identifier printed on your paperwork exactly. The clerk publishes no local case-number format. A guessed prefix or year pattern can pull up the wrong file.
- Read the notice, citation, warrant, or bond paper and name the court.
- Use PeachCourt for the Colquitt State or Superior route when the case is eligible and an account is available.
- Search with the official party name or case number rather than a nickname or estimated code.
- Read the event sequence, including arraignment, motion, trial, plea, disposition, and sentencing entries.
- Call the responsible clerk or use the courthouse PAT if the result is absent, old, or restricted.
The search gives you the docket. It does not make an event line into a signed order or certified record.
Superior and State Criminal Dockets
Colquitt County runs two main criminal dockets. Superior Court takes the felony side. That means prosecutions, felony trials, criminal motions, arraignments, and calendar categories tied to the grand jury. State Court covers the smaller stuff. Its docket holds countywide misdemeanors and traffic matters, plus felony preliminary matters, warrants, and other limited-jurisdiction cases. Check which court is named on your paper, then search that docket.
| Venue | Typical criminal matter | Search and confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Court | Felony trials, motions, arraignments, and criminal trial settings | PeachCourt, Clerk of Superior Court, PAT, Southern calendar |
| State Court | Misdemeanors, traffic, preliminary felony matters, and warrants | PeachCourt, clerk, PAT, or issuing court |
| Magistrate Court | Warrants, bail, and pre-warrant hearings | Magistrate office at the Annex |
| Municipal Court | City traffic, ordinance cases, and local misdemeanor authority | City clerk or municipal payment route |
| Juvenile Court | Delinquency and other juvenile matters | Juvenile clerk and lawful access determination |
The county clerk's office keeps the Superior, State, and Juvenile records for Colquitt County. City and lower-court dockets live elsewhere.
Criminal Dockets: What They Show
A criminal docket is a timeline of court activity. One entry might be a charge or count, a party role, counsel, a bond or warrant event, arraignment, pretrial, motions, orders, a trial setting, a plea, disposition, sentence, or a probation-revocation event. What it is not is the whole file. The entry list is never the full police report, transcript, exhibit file, or signed order.
| Case number | Official identifier copied from the notice, citation, clerk, or authenticated provider. No public Colquitt format guide was located. |
|---|---|
| Charge or count | The filed allegation or count description, not a finding of guilt. |
| Initial events | Bond, warrant, service, or other early judicial activity where applicable. |
| Settings | Arraignment, pretrial, motion, jury or bench trial, calendar call, and other court dates. |
| Disposition | Plea, verdict, dismissal, judgment, or another resolution event. |
| Post-judgment | Sentence, probation revocation, costs, or later orders when exposed by the provider. |
A fresh docket line only starts the story. A charge, warrant, or arrest entry is a beginning, not an outcome, so treat it accordingly. When you need real proof, read the signed order or get a certified copy from the Colquitt County clerk.
Colquitt Criminal Calendar Categories
Colquitt County readers get familiar labels from the Southern Judicial Circuit schedule. Superior Court trial months and State Court jury terms are planning patterns only. They promise nothing about your particular case. The annual schedule carries an effective date of March 15, 2018, so let the current weekly and case docket control whenever the dates disagree.
- Arraignment
- A criminal setting category where the case proceeds through an initial formal stage.
- Criminal motion
- A calendar category for a request asking the court to rule before trial or disposition.
- Calendar call
- An organized call for status, announcement, or readiness information.
- Criminal trial
- A trial setting, distinct from a motion, arraignment, or calendar call.
- Grand jury
- A new or old grand-jury calendar category, not itself a trial entry.
A pretrial or calendar call date is easy to misread. Never report one as the trial date without checking the latest entry. Use the calendar label to orient your docket search, then confirm the court, judge, date, and outcome in the actual case record.
Criminal Case Stages on the Docket
A Colquitt County criminal docket rarely turns on one status word. It unfolds in a sequence of entries, and that order can shift with the venue and the case. Scan for the entry that actually changes things rather than stopping at the first charge line.
Process: Filing or accusation › Arraignment › Pretrial or motions › Plea or trial › Disposition › Sentencing or later supervision.
Other entries fill the gaps between those stages. Service, bond, and warrant events appear, along with continuances and resets. A continuance just shifts a setting. A reset hands it a new date. Neither label means the charge went away. Treat them as scheduling moves rather than outcomes. When the docket lists a plea or a judgment, pair the disposition with the order entry. That shows what the court actually decided.
For dates, see the Colquitt County court schedule. It explains the setting labels you will see on a criminal docket. The case record itself then gives the particular court, time, and status for that hearing.
Colquitt Treatment Court and the Docket
Colquitt County also runs a Treatment Court through the Southern Judicial Circuit. The Colquitt County Treatment Court is a Superior Court accountability program. It is built around substance-abuse and mental-health treatment, public safety, and participant accountability. Every participant has an underlying Superior criminal case. The public docket may show a plea, an order, a sentence, probation, or a treatment-related setting. Treatment-team material is different. It can carry added confidentiality limits that the docket does not reflect.
There is no anonymous Treatment Court docket search. Start with the underlying Superior case number. Then ask the program or the clerk which public order or calendar entry you may view. Judge Brian A. McDaniel leads the program. The program page lists the Superior judge-office phone. Still, a current program handbook governs eligibility and process details.

The docket stays the court record, nothing more. Treat it as a log of entries, not a full file of treatment or support services tied to the case.
Colquitt County Criminal Docket Courts
Venue explains most failed lookups. A State Court traffic ticket does not turn into a Superior felony just because both courts sit in Colquitt County. A warrant or bond entry in Magistrate Court proves nothing about the final criminal disposition. And a city ordinance case stays with its municipal clerk unless the notice points to a later county filing.
Georgia organizes its courts into Superior, State, Juvenile, Probate, Magistrate, and Municipal levels, and appeals climb to the Georgia Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court of Georgia. For any criminal lookup, start with the court named in the paperwork. Then ask the clerk whether the file was transferred, appealed, or restricted.
If the papers say Superior or State but no online result shows up, contact the unified clerk next. City cases go through that city's own court office first.
Colquitt Criminal Access at the PAT
Colquitt County's e-filing standing order allows free viewing of eligible records at a public access terminal. Online viewing runs through PeachCourt when the file is not sealed, privileged, or restricted. Printing and downloading are separate services. Fees can apply. When an account gate blocks an online criminal result, other routes exist. The same goes when a document image stays hidden in the public frame.
Work the chain in order. Search Superior or State Court cases through E-Access and PeachCourt. Call the Clerk of Superior Court at 229-616-7420. Go to Room 214 at the Historic Courthouse and ask about PAT inspection. Or mail a written request to P.O. Box 2827 once payment and delivery are confirmed. A Georgia Open Records Act request may be oral or written. Court restrictions and juvenile confidentiality still control what gets released.
Before assuming something is missing, ask the clerk a sharper question. Is the item a restricted document? An older paper file? A case that belongs to another court? The clerk can route the request without revealing protected details.
The PeachCourt gate and the PAT serve different needs. An online docket search may surface a docket line. The terminal, by contrast, lets a visitor inspect an eligible record inside the clerk's office. Neither route defeats a sealed order, a juvenile restriction, or a municipal or Magistrate file held elsewhere.
Access Rules for Criminal Dockets
Public access has limits in Colquitt County criminal dockets. Rule 21 governs Superior Court access, but sealed filings, redacted pages, protected identifiers, adoption records, and juvenile materials can be withheld or trimmed. The Open Records Act cannot override a court's own restriction.
Criminal record boundaries
Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. ยงยง 50-18-70 and 50-18-71, sets the public-record request and response framework.
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 allows a judge to restrict a record after the rule's showing and hearing process.
Georgia juvenile access materials describe authorized access rather than a general public name search.
A charge or warrant entry on a Colquitt County docket is not proof of guilt. For the authoritative result, rely on the disposition, the signed judgment, or a certified record from the court or clerk that keeps the case file.
Southern Circuit Criminal Workload
The 2025 Superior Court workload assessment covers the whole five-county Southern Judicial Circuit. It is not just a Colquitt County figure. It reports a three-year average of 3,715 criminal defendants. That circuit figure splits into several parts. There are 2,220 felony defendants and 1,238 probation-revocation defendants. The rest are 125 misdemeanors, 89 serious felonies, 41 serious traffic matters, and 0.3 death-penalty matters on average. Read these as circuit-wide numbers. They are never a Colquitt-only count of criminal docket cases.
The workload assessment explains why Colquitt County calendars carry shared circuit categories. For county-level detail, the Georgia court statistics dashboards are the right next stop. A docket search should never stretch circuit-wide scale into a claim about one case or one person.
